Prayer

  • “I pray to restore the truth of the universe, to gain a glimpse of the world, and of me, through the eyes of God.”
  • “In prayer, I shift my point of view away from my own selfishness. …. Prayer is the act of seeing reality from God’s point of view.”
  • “Prayer has become for me much more than a shopping list of requests to present to God. It has become a realignment of everything.”(Philip Yancey)

  1. Yes, I believe the above statements to be a reality of a real prayer life!!!

Thank you for this post, Pastor Steve. Reading, rereading AND rereading again these three bullets from Yancy is convicting. Even when my view of prayer gets misaligned at times, to state that prayer is a “realignment of everything” convicts to realign my view of prayer to that of God’s viewpoint, rather than what I want reality to be.
