Perhaps you know by now that a letter from the Obama Administration has been sent to every public school in the nation.
The letter (signed by the Justice Department and the Department of Education) instructs all public schools in our country to permit transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms that they say match their gender identities.
What does it tell us about the Obama administration when they act as if the most urgent matter facing our country is the transgender debate?
The Obama administration (predictably) doesn’t care whether school districts support the policy. They’re not interested in a discussion or a debate regarding their special interpretation of civil rights law.
And (imagine this) they don’t even care if parents feel uncomfortable or oppose having their daughters changing and showering with a boy who says he’s a girl.
Once again, the Obama’s Administration believes they know better. Why would they consult poor ignorant parents who desperately need to be enlightened?
Yet the parent or guardian who notifies the school that the gender identity of their child “differs from previous representations or records” must be unquestionably and immediately accommodated.
The student who claims gender identity change does not need to present any evidence to defend his or her choice. Equal access to bathrooms and locker rooms must be immediately given to students who claim to be transgender. Schools are not permitted to require transgender students to use facilities based on their biological sex. Nor can they require them to use individual-user facilities.
The Obama Administration insists that there should be zero tolerance for parents who disagree or for students who feel uncomfortable.
Using a special interpretation of civil rights law, the letter states, “As is consistently recognized in civil rights cases, the desire to accommodate others’ discomfort cannot justify a policy that singles out and disadvantages a particular class of students.”
Disagreement or opposition to the Obama Administration on this matter is unilaterally labeled discrimination and viewed as a violation of civil rights. It appears that all we have to do is create a special class of people and civil rights law will force everyone else to accommodate our demands for them.
The President and his inner circle are in overdrive to fulfill his promise to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” Yet it certainly must frustrate them to know that their letter does not carry the force of law (something they are anxious to change).
Of course, the Obama Administration has repeatedly regarded itself as superior to the law, the Constitution, the Congress and to the will of the American people. In this case, they deceitfully suggest that the letter is meant to clarify expectations of school districts that receive federal funding – a veiled threat to Schools that do not accept the administration’s interpretation of civil rights law.
This is shameful financial blackmail with our money! What gives them the right to control federal funding without proper legal procedure?
As one has said, “This is an attempt to unilaterally rewrite long-established federal civil rights laws in a manner that is wholly inconsistent with the intent of Congress and disregards decades of statutory interpretation by the Courts,”
Americans need to wake up to the reality of what is happening. Our schoolteachers and administration are being told to explicitly and unquestionably trust children to choose their gender identity. A school that dares to suggest these children could benefit from guidance or counsel is at risk of a lawsuit.
It’s hard to imagine rational and compassionate adults allowing this kind of foolishness. Wise and caring leaders in our schools are being manipulated and threatened to accept a radical agenda without discussion or debate.
Citizens who value freedom must stand up to this nonsense and refuse to comply with the demands of a militant group of intolerant people who say, “You will see it our way, or else!”
Disagree and they’ll call you haters, bigots, trans-phobics and many other demeaning intolerant things.
They desperately want you to believe that the majority of Americans agree with them. Let’s give them a reality check and show them how wrong they are.
They’re coming for our children. They want to control our schools and our lives.
Please stand with me against arrogant politicians who try to bully us with coercion and manipulation. Enough is enough!
