Long time soloist for Billy Graham, George Beverly Shea, died at 104 years of age (1909-2013).
Franklin Graham said of him, “Even though Bev was 10 years older than my father, he never acted his age. He was absolute fun to be with. Bev was one of the most gracious and unassuming men I have known. He was always encouraging and supportive, a man of deep faith and strong commitment to Jesus Christ.”
As will be true for all of God’s children, the time had come for him “to leave this world and go to the Father” (John 13:1). He is now experiencing the answer to the prayer of Jesus, “Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.” (John 17:24).
